I always felt like there was someone watching me from a distance. I never felt safe, I was always looking over my shoulder. I was pretty normal, I worked at a small bookstore a block from my apartment which I shared with my gay best friend and my dog. My life was pretty normal.... well... until I came home to find a monster in my bed.

Whispers in the Walls
They told me the house was empty. That the boy I was supposed to care for wasn't real. Just a doll. Just a job. But then I heard things. Felt things. The whispers in the walls, the way the air shifted like someone was always watching me. I should be scared. I should leave. But there's something about him-something that keeps pulling me back. Maybe it's the loneliness in his voice. Or the way he lingers in the shadows, waiting for me to see him. All I know is... I don't think I want to run anymore.Abgeschlossen
Love Unseen
Amara, a forensic science student in Saint Petersburg, Russia has a crush on her senior Ivan Volkovitch soon finds herself tangled in web of obsession where there's a shadow who's fallen for her. ******* My neighbor. Always watching. Always too close. At first, it was little things-the way he lingered in the hallway when I got home, the way I'd catch his reflection in a window, staring. He never spoke much, just a polite nod, but his eyes... they stayed on me too long. Then, things started going missing. My spare key. A sweater I left in my wardrobe. My bedroom door cracked open when I was sure I'd locked it. I told myself I was imagining it. That I was being paranoid. Until I saw him. And he was there outside my door last night- just watching. Waiting for me. And this morning a message "I'm still here." Written from inside. And the real horror is just beginning. - #71 mysteryromance out of 1.82k stories. #501 mysterious out of 1.72k stories.

No Escape
"You can't leave me like this Abbigale! You'll never get rid of me. I'll be there every day, watching you. I know I'll always be on your mind" I jumped out of my sleep. Sweat pelting down on my skin. Hearing that voice in my head. Those words. Why now? I looked at my clocked, 3:24 AM. I got up and walked to the kitchen for a cold glass of water. Boink. I froze facing the fridge. I don't know what that sound was, but it seemed to be coming from the living room. I turned around, and there in the deep corners of my living room I saw a shadow...a shadow... that shaped like ... "Daniel?" I called out. I stepped forward, blinked and the shadow disappeared.Abgeschlossen
