Todos los alumnos ya estaban posicionados en las mesas de sus respectivas casas, excepto una, la cual estaba sentada alejada de la multitud concentrada leyendo un libro de encantamientos.
-Por último, este año ingresará una nueva alumna a cuarto año -dijo la profesora McGonagall mirando el pergamino con los nombres de los alumnos- Señorita...¿Katherine? -Dijo la profesora confundida al ver que dicha alumna no poseía apellido-. Señorita Katherine, puede pasar adelante.
Los alumnos se miraban entre ellos, buscando a quien estaba siendo llamada. Ella se levantó segura de la banca en la que se encontraba y se acercó a la profesora, se sentó esperando que esta posicionara el sombrero sobre su cabeza.
El sombrero se quedó en silencio por unos minutos, sin emitir ningún tipo de sonido. Sin saber qué sucedía, la muchacha bajo el sombrero esbozó un corto tosido lo cual rompió el silencio en el lugar.
-Sly.. Slytherin -dijo poco animado el sombrero lo cual dejó a todos extrañados.
