It was a normal day. But, since that's a cliche line often used before stating that the day was, in fact, not normal in the slightest, it quite obviously wasn't a normal day. So lets start again, this time without suggesting anything strange is going to happen. There's not much worse than being proven wrong, and the sentence 'It was a normal day' was asking for something unusual to happen. Fortunately, the sentence in question was not one you'd often see outside of being the start of bad fanfiction, so it was highly unlikely that a sensible man like Berwald Oxenstierna would ever say it, and since this story focuses on him, there is no point on starting with that dreaded sentence. "It was a normal day." Said Alfred F Jones, a bored american on a completely different continent to the unfortunate Berwald. "Well what did you expect?" Asked the american's twin, the equally bored but much more sensible Matthew Williams. He received a glare in response, and there the two sat for the rest of the day while nothing happened. The Last District
What if district 13 didn't get blown up? And what if there was a 14th district hidden from everyone? District 14 wasn't known to the public, it was kept hidden due to the lack of people. They were told that as soon as their population increased than they would be entered into the Hunger Games. Only they didn't know it would be this soon. Peacekeepers stormed the mediocre town of District 14 where they announced that only one person every year, between the ages of 12 to 18, was to be entered into the Hunger Games. When Marlowe Ordell hears the announcement she fears for the life of her 12 year old brother. There was a 1 in 400 chance that he gets called and he'd be all alone. She never once thought about her own life until she was the one to be called. She runs into a Career Tribute who takes an interest to her.
