When Nanshe, Anuket, Vedenemo are whisked away from their normal, undersea lives to become average middle schoolers, they begin to realize the risks of the human world, the great changes in society, and the challenges of growing up as a homosapien.  Nanshe, a hipster-grunge gatherer, is tired of working for her mother day in and day out. She finally finds herself on a journey that will take her from all the seaweed, kelp, and ocassional pearl.  Anuket, a girly polisher, loves all the shiny jewels she cleanses for the royal crowns. When the time comes to say goodbye, she makes a desicion that may affect her and the entire kingdom.  Vedenemo, the Royal Daughter and next in line for the throne, only wants freedom. The demands of a kingdom seem almost as large as the ocean itself! Will she be able to take charge of two teenage mermaids in the Forbidden Unknown? Three mermaids, two worlds, one spell. Discover what lies beyond the sunset.

Mermaids are real, and unlike humans they have powers. Every mermaid is matched with an element when they are born, its not there choice but the worlds in a way, you see the mermaids tail color tells them their element and powers some are more powerful with it and other's not so much to useless. Green tails mean their element is Nature and earth, orange and yellow is light, purple is shadows, pink is wind and then there is blue for water and red for fire. But, when a princess is born with a tail holding 5 out of 6 of the elemental colors and starts getting hunted at the age of one. There was only one thing the king could do to keep his precious babygirl safe and that's what he had done. Amelia Light was adopted at the age of one. Knowing the truth she feel's that these people are her real family even if they aren't by blood. Living a normal life with a loving family and an annoying older brother, Amelia never expected her life to change in the way it did. She had grown up to love the water, she could always hold her breath for a long time and the people around her would always be filled with shock and bewilderment but, to her it was normal. At the age of 5 Amilea could hold her breath for a minute but as she gotten older it changed when she was 10 she could hold it for 5 minutes easy! Now that she is turning 16 soon she can hold it for almost and I mean almost 10 minutes. She had loved everything about it but the summer after she turned 15 some..
