You were a shadow kept behind a looking glass for only White Diamond's eyes to see. She sheltered you for your own good, as you were a gem of a darker shade. No, you were not a corrupt gem - not in the slightest. Though, your people on Homeworld considered you to be nothing but a myth - a Diamond covered in a shade of darkness. You were Black Diamond, an isolated gem that was never known to see the other bright and colourful gems that flourished on your planet. Was White keeping you hidden to prevent you from being rejected, or were you just needed to be kept under her shadow - composed of an overprotective cage? Everything would begin to change when you found yourself on Planet Earth and in the eyes of Crystal Gems. Can a gem that doesn't glitter so bright find acceptance. . . Or maybe love?

Steven, Homeworld, Danger... Diamonds... Those words don't sound too comforting together, right? Who said this was a comforting story? For Steven and the gems, things finally don't go right. When Steven is separated from Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl during the attempt to retrieve his father from the zoo, he is found, and quickly identified as a rose quartz gem... and not just any, but the rebellion leader's own son. Blue and Yellow Diamond create a master plan to finally eliminate the Crystal Gems, and Steven is the key to doing so. All they have to do is play a game of emotions, and things will soon fall into their hands, due to a very unlikely snitch. Will Steven be able to resist the Diamonds and escape, or will Steven's Universe crumple because of himself? (Rated T, to be on the completely safe side, but I seriously doubt there will be anything too bad in my fanfiction, as I am trying to make it as close to the style of the show as possible! Status:finished Ah, Lapis Lazuli. A beautiful gem with a kind, fun heart. You never thought you'd understand the human emotion 'happiness' until you met Lapis. You never thought you'd understand any 'emotion', to be honest. Up until now, you just couldn't understand. You didn't understand fusions and emotions. You had spent a eternity serving Yellow Diamond as a entertainer. Despite not understanding emotions, you loved her. She was your Diamond and no matter how much abuse she hurled at you, you had loved her more than anything.. Then she handed you down to her sister, Pink Diamond. Even though it had hurt you that she abandoned you, you had still thought things would be fine.. Until one day, people realized you were broken. They found out that you didn't understand fusing or emotions and said "well, as a entertainer you need to understand the acts you're performing! And a entertainer should be happy! It's part of their job! It's all a Tanzanite is!" And were going to shatter you.. Or so they thought. This story takes place sometime when season 5 is nearing it's end (I do not own the art used in the book. All rights go to the creators of the artwork.) (All rights to characters go to Rebecca Sugar. Imagine Beach City. A normal city, normal people, normal society, a normal school. Or, at least, one can only assume so. Some might say that their school is abnormal because of the people in it. When we use the word "abnormal" to describe Beach City Middle School, we aren't lying. As gems, Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, Steven, and all the others have a bit of a hard time living normal lives. Whether they're respected or picked on because of their appearance, they all manage to get through... Most of it. The crystal gems, trying to hide their secrets to avoid further investigation, Steven and Connie, trying to live life to the fullest, Lapis and Peridot, trying to uncover as many secrets as possible, and Jasper and her gang, trying to be the best and most loved- and feared. The Neo Gem Empire: Light upon the Void.
I do not own Steven Universe or any other show or franchise This is simply a work for fun. A long, long time ago, when life around the universe was at its first steps. A being of unmeasurable power gave birth to a new species of living creatures. It created two which it hoped would make more of themselves, to grow and prosper on these barren Galaxies. However, unlike how the being expected, the two of its creations would separate due to their opposing beliefs and views in creation. While one of them seeked control and order, the other seeked for strength and prosperity. Having these opposing beliefs would separate not only themselves but the universe itself. One would control the Top part of the universe and the other the bottom parts. While unspoken a promise was made that day that light and darkness were to be divided indefinitely. One world would not dare to cross the other, and if it were to happen, the other shall not back down. The creator of these creatures could only look on in sadness, as its two creations created walls separating each other, it could only hope that one day something or someone would once again reunite these two fragmented worlds.
