Every day at noon, Alaric finds his wife in their garden. Every evening, as the sun slips below the horizon, Alaric loses his wife to a curse laid upon them, an old woman's revenge for being wronged by Alaric's father.

Every day at noon, Evalie suddenly appears in the garden of a man who calls her by a name she doesn't recognize. A man who seems to know more than he can say. Every evening, she is forced to go through an excruciating process as she vanishes, seemingly into thin air, only to reappear the next day in the gardens of the silver-eyed man she knows only as the King. She has no recollection of what happens to her between dusk and noon...

Even worse, she doesn't know her name.
Or why she keeps disappearing and reappearing.
Or why she can't remember anything at all.

What does the King know that he isn't telling her?
