Lucid Dream ~ A dream state in which one is conscious enough to recognize that one is in the dream state and which stays in one's memory.
This is an experimental story. The first chapter is very corny, I'm aware, but I'm just winging it here-- I've never written a fantasy before. Constructive feedback is always appreciated.

Nightmare
"Dreams. Everyone human has them. Some believe in them. Some think it's a pigment of their own imaginations. It's soothing to see yourself in a beautiful world. And it leaves you full of hope when you wake up. But there are days when you won't have these sweet dreams. No more beautiful worlds with bright sunsets, sweet flowers and rainbow bridges. My name is Lucille Cutter but I'm usually called Lucy. I am what is known as a lucid dreamer, lucid dreaming is where the person dreaming is aware they are dreaming and can exert some form of control over the dream. In my dreams I can control some things but my dreams are different... They hurt me. When I dream I can get hurt and when I wake up I feel the pain, there is no physical mark but I feel the immense pain. I've had tests done but no one knows why it happens only that it could kill me. You maybe thinking that as long as I don't do anything dangerous I should be fine... Right? The Condemned
"I was still conscious, although I wished I wasn't..." A story of how someone considered as a green-haired freak comes across the only other person he's been able to be friends with, a guy that we actually can't really call human... I finally got to work on my story-idea when I realised I could write while on the train to uni and back home :) So, this is it! It's situated in the 19th century mostly, but it isn't really mentioned in the story itself. I'll probably add my own drawings as a cover (Done!) Feel free to comment your feedback! I want to improve, but that's only possible when I hear about the flaws from you guys. It was just a regular day for you, after an exhausting day of work, you got home and get your well-deserved day off. The only difference is that you've just bought an office-themed dating game and are planning to try it tonight! But there's one thing you didn't know, a whole new exciting adventure is waiting for you at the very moment you start the game. You'll meet even more and more characters/countries as you progress through the "game" The genders of the countries are gonna be what I felt most suitable, tho for some special cases, like France. I made these country twins, one male, and one female, with different names and different personas. I hope you wouldn't mind! Yes, cliche, I know, but eh... worth a shot. (edit) I forgot to add that this started out as a confessional journal about becoming clean after a 10 year + addiction to OTC cold meds, but that was not my style of writing, I liked the material so I wanted to expand it into a novel length work featuring the journal elements. To say this work is a roller coaster would put it lightly. Although there are elements of time travel I would consider my sudden transitions reality travel. I use actual experience and dreams as a foundation, then toss in some fourth wall breaking narratives (meta-fiction), with a sprinkling of facts and quotations from songs and factual articles. It tends to be written similarly to an essay sans the boring. I have been influenced strongly by Vonnegut and W. S. Burroughs , and a wide variety of album rock, and that bleeds through. The tags dystopian and dark humor describe the whole piece best but there is a lot of genre jumping. I've done a good deal of research, not just for factual things but for the type of writing I do. Although not technically fan fiction, there is a nod to Final Fantasy games. The cover photo is a shared copyright, Brian Barbour took the photo, I added treatments.Complete
