Star Light, Star Bright, what horrors hide from human sight?

What if your life was a lie? What if everything and everyone you've known up to this point have been nothing but illusions, false memories implanted into your brain by an unknown entity?

Enter Yuki Takanashi, a meek, ordinary young woman living an ordinary life. She's 19 years old, originally hails from Tokyo, studies at a university in London, and works as a waitress at a less-than-savory maid cafe. Or, at least that's what she believes.

An encounter with a mysterious, charming man changes her life forever, as he reveals his true identity as a Kamui, a member of an ancient alien race possessing deadly psychokinetic abilities and questionable morals. Yuki's once-peaceful life is shattered when she discovers her own origins as a Brynhildr, one of the Kamui's artificial female creations, and the keystone in an otherworldly battle for the very survival of the human race and beyond...

No one ever knows the whole story... Nestled deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, something is emerging. Kept in absolute secrecy, it seeps into a fading town, quietly shared from person to person. For Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate, this discovery could mean an escape from his empty existence. To Rachel DuValle, perpetually underestimated and dismissed by the world, magic represents a chance to become something much greater than herself. In the face of an unsuspecting world, their decisions shape the growth of a budding society discovering untold power. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever - or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. ----- The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series. New chapters will be posted on Fridays for as long as it takes to tell the whole story. For Wattpad only, chapters are split up by individual scenes-if you would prefer the whole chapters in single pieces, please visit my homepage or another site where I post this story, thanks! "Just a bit more, sweetie. This'll all be over, and we can live peacefully together with your dad. Just a bit more..." Ex-Commander Riku "Wokenblade" Komoru has been kidnapped, and his first mate, Mikaro Sarashi, has no idea where to look for him. Desperate, she asks her old war comrade Kathryn Granger, the leader of the Nexian people, for aid. The Nexis Prime gladly lends a hand, but when the genetically enhanced soldier finds out what she is hiding behind the scenes, latent emotions will rise; emotions she didn't know she was capable of feeling. Now, with only the counsel of a distant acquaintance and the support of an unlikely ally, Mika must learn to deal with these feelings accordingly, lest she becomes a casualty of this uprising conspiracy...
