The Healer and the Demon

Ashra, hardened by centuries of protecting her chosen family and being misunderstood by lovers, is confronted with an enemy she's too weak to defeat. Wounded and desperate she seeks sanctuary with the only man who can heal her fast enough for her to protect her charges, only to find his new lover is a demon.

Heller might be the strongest healer in the city, but he's been broken hearted for so long that he can't see past his own pain to understand why Ashra keeps throwing herself into harms way. Disconsolate, he accepts Hawthorn's persistent advances and, when Ashra comes to him desperate and once again nearly dead, his new lover opens his eyes.

Hawthorn is persistent, stubborn, and from a line of demons cursed to only gain power by protecting the innocent, or at least full of good intentions. In his many decades of searching he hasn't found anyone interesting the course would accept, until he spies Heller and Ashra just as their breaking up. Intrigued by them both he sets out to mend their relationship and settle himself snugly between them (in bed).
