This is the Third Book of the Afton trilogy. If you haven't read the first (Nostalgias Collide) or the second (The Afton and The Orphan), do read them to understand. Six years since the divorce of their parents and two years after the death of Mike Schmidt, we all know things have never been normal. Now three years have pass since Chris and his siblings have freed all the monsters and the studio burned down, they thought everything was over when Flowey killed William/Springtrap, but they were dead wrong. They accidentally freed a dark force that has been haunting Elizabeth ever since she found her brothers again, and Micheal was going to make sure it never follows her again. Little does he and his friends know that they weren't the only ones who suffered from William and that dark force. Many years have passed since the war between the humans and monsters. The humans won, and shut the monsters in a place called the underground. Keeping them there with a magical barrier, it took seven usable souls to shatter the barrier, but being monsters, their souls didn't work. Instead, they had to use human souls to break the barrier, and even then, humans were not likely to fall in. Because the human waste system ends up in the underground, the monsters are informed of what's going on up on the surface, and have developed human-like lifestyles, which included scholarship, friendships and the like, but it seemed, that the monsters were eager to get back on the surface again. Six humans were unlucky enough to fall into the underground, and the leader of the monsters, Asgore Dreemurr killed these humans to use their souls for removing the barrier. Asgore thought that those humans were the only ones that would fall in, but he was wrong. Two more humans fell in, but their souls were lost before Asgore could even use them, and those soulless ghosts were doomed to haunt the underground. Now playing the waiting game, Asgore patiently waited another human to fall, and fall it would. (Sorry! No Muffet or Grillby in this one!)
