People have been split into groups according to there mind's ability. Governed by the system where brands are life. Those whose minds cannot handle the five brands were subjected to outcasted or hunted. For they were threats to this system. 
Ruelle Damun, a nineteen-year-old boy who has the ability to take all the brands is the key to saving this population of humans.
