I turn in fear as I become fully aware that I am on the ground allowing, whatever 'it' was that was chasing me, to attack. I wince in pain as I sit myself up and look around for the nearest place of shelter. I look right to left, as I do the blood is drained from my face and my mouth turns to cotton as I see what is face to face with me... 'it' is here.

Nevan Wilson, seventeen, has lived in Arcanus Wood for yes you guessed it seventeen years. Her ancestors and bloodline are quite the jumbled mess causing her parents to keep secrets from her and her brother. Like her parents, Arcanus means "secret" in Latin. Her parents think it is best for them to live with out all the nonsense as odds are they will not be affect by it. But they think wrong because secrets will be revealed, lies will become uncovered, and all that will be left is the truth. Let's just hope that everyone can handle the truth because if not, everyone's way of life in this old town will be turned upside down.

[18+ You've been warned.] "So that's it? You're just going to walk away from this? From us?" His laugh is bitter, a far cry from the usual genuine sound I've grown used to. I take a step back, not liking how close he's gotten, and run a hand through my already messy hair. "What did you expect? That we could somehow make this work?" I desperately wanted that to be true, but everything was so damn confusing right now. I didn't know what the right thing was. What would my parents have done in this situation? "Whatever this is?" Mason steps forward, forcing me to take another step back until I hit the wall. He's too close-way too close. He leans in, his minty breath mixed with cologne brushing against my face. "This-whatever's between us-is just as real as everything else, whether you want to believe it or not." ___________________ Eighteen-year-old River Banks has survived the streets of Chicago by learning one hard truth: the only person she can count on is herself. Enter Mason O'Neal, a ruthless 20-year-old who inherited a black-market weapons empire from his father. No one dares cross him-except Jonathan Banks, River's uncle, who steals something that could destroy Mason's operation. As danger closes in, an unexpected connection sparks between Mason and River-one that may change both their fates.

"The fuck you are leaving me." He snapped and growled at his mate. She was calm as she was ever be regardless of his snapping. She sighed and turned around to leave without saying something to him because it was worthless. There was no point in talking and especially to him. He grabbed her arm before she put one step. "Where do you think you are going Ara?" He growled so loudly as everyone shuddered watching their interaction. She quickly remove his hand as anger rolling off of her in waves. "Don't. Touch. Me. So you think I will live here and watch you mate and breed that female." She snapped at him. "She meant nothing Ara." He said after a minute. She laughed, literally laughed but without any humor. "That's why you were fucking her in your office just a minutes before, don't you?" "It was a mistake." He tried to reason with her. "But in your case mistakes happened in more than one time. And they said mistakes happened only one time." She said sarcastically. "I don't need her. I need you." He said again desperately. "Lies. All lies coming from your mouth. I feel disgusted just by looking at you, let alone talking to you. And you said you need me? Ha. Very funny. You don't need me and I sure as hell don't need you. This female behind your back is more enough than me. Breed her, mark her or fuck her. I DON'T FUCKING CARE." "I am sorry. I am really fucking sorry." He said brokenly as kneeling on the ground. A small laugh escaped from her lips. "Isn't it too late for that mate?" And she left just like that while single tear rolled down her cheeks. He had made mistakes. Mistakes that will cost him everything. He knew he had lost her and this time completely. She was broken. Again. He did break her, repair her just to break her again leaving a broken shattered woman but strong willed. ---------------------------------------------------- The cruel, sadistic Rogue Alpha and his caring, lovable Witch mate.
