I watched his face glowing from the sunset we were watching, his green eyes enchanted by the glow of the evening. I could barely look away.

"I know you don't trust me, but I'm willing to take that chance...." I heard him whisper while I looked at the sand in front of me. I didn't notice that he had moved closer to me, and was now speaking directly in my ear.

"You're right, I don't trust you," my voice betrayed me as I tried to look away from him. I could feel his eyes searching for mine. "I don't trust anyone who wants a relationship."

I could feel him smirking, then he whispered something that I had no idea how to react to.
