Based on fictionalised events of an uprising by the people against those in power following a Brexit that leaves the UK isolated.

The Hourglass changes us all. Unleashes the monster in us. What can we do when the monster in us is unleashed upon America? Peter Unum, a cynical and neurotic high schooler, lives a normal and somewhat healthy life. His older brother has his own rock band, his younger sister is a complete overbearing bookworm, and his crush is as dumb as a rock. So, life is pretty normal for him. Until the werewolves are unleashed upon the America. Every two months, the Lycanthrope Corporation, America's new Government, selects a large group of people to be taken away and turned into werewolves and at night unleashes them to feast on the flesh of anyone they come into contact with, an event that has become known as The Hourglass. When Peter and his friends find themselves trapped outside in their neighborhood, they must fight to survive against the flesh eating wolves or die trying.

The police arrests Ed's brother William, in what seems to be a fight over positions gone fatally wrong. The murder opens the way for Boris to the top, an ambitious man pushed by his clever wife, Theresa. What few know, the police have neither the right murderer or motive. The magic of the murders hatches a far greater risk for humans and their brains. But two out of the three initially setting out to stop what is happening, Justin and Matis, haven't yet coped with their own deaths nor with the prospect of an eternity together, while their boss, Hel, puts her father's safety before the task. Whether or not they get their act together though, it soon becomes clear that the job demands a bigger crew as their true opponent is very familiar to them and has never been beaten yet. Exit to the Right kicks off a series. In its course, it becomes clear that the 'zombie virus' rather than destroying brains, manipulates the humans' emotion-based value system to send humankind back in time without ever leaving the path to the future.
