Astrid Vinson, a 15 year old girl just trying to have a good life, but it seems as if the universe hates her. Up until she was 13 she had the best life! Tons of friends, in most of the sports at school, helped at the pound and senior citizins homes, and loves almost anything and everything. She is virtually incapable of hating anything. She being also really shy and prefers not to be in the center of atention. But then something horrible happened......

It all happened when she moved to Los Banos, California. Her mother's home town. After she moved there she soon found out why her mom always said she hated that town. Her mom soon started drinking, which was soon followed by drugs and then by abuse. Astrid didnt know what to do. Her mom was getting more violent by the day. 

Then her family starting getting voilent torwards her to she was as low as she thought she could be, Until her mom decided she should go meet her dad and spend the summer with him. Astrid knows nothing about this man and has never even layed an eye on him........

She thinks the worst has come... But she doesn't even know.
