Hanahaki Au: Cinnabar x Reader (You're my only Hope)

"The Hanahaki disease is a lovesick illness were the victim throws up flower petals due to one-sided love. There are ways for the disease to stop, such as the lover sharing the same feelings or the victim dying. It is also curable by surgery, but the victim loses the memories of the one they used to love."

Story is Gender Neutral, so y/n can be a boy or girl.

When a human suddenly appears on the Land of the Lustrous, Cinnabar unexpectedly finds the human in the beach and they're hesitant to make a move since their poison hurts anything it touches. However, when the human awakes and stumbles upon Cinnabar, the poison does nothing but bounce off the human. As Cinnabar becomes more open to the human, they have to keep them hidden from the rest of the gems or else something bad would happen. But when Diamond finds out about the human and tells Bort, that's when the human tells them their true intentions. That's when Cinnabar starts to notice a change in themselves, they throw up rose petals and can't stop thinking of Y/n. Why were they thinking of Y/n so much? Did Y/n have the same feelings towards Cinnabar or someone else?
