Moreland, Georgia was nothing to brag about. With one diner and three bars, the population was 154 and decreasing. Ella Roe never knew anything outside of the small town, though she dreamed of leaving the wretched placed one day--with her best friend, of course. After suffering quietly for seventeen years, Ella had finally had enough. She had a way out and she was going to take it, no matter if Daryl came with or not.

Ten years later, Ella had changed her life. She had a job in the city as a writer and caring boyfriend who she never let too close to her true self. But, when a sickness spreads and people start coming back from the dead, Ella must flea the city in order to survive. In this new world, her old one may come back to haunt her.
