I am a writer, but this is my first fan fic. Lapidot is my otp, so i wanted to write one focused on them. Then I had this idea for an episode. i posted my idea to amino and tons of people replied asking this to be made into a fan fic. i like fics that are plausible in the canon, so i tried to write this as "realistically" as possible in the show's canon, therefore the lapidot isnt explicitly romantic, but it has tons of implications and CUTE moments that i would love to see in the show's canon. It takes place a month after Reunited, and i dont know what will happen yet after Legs from Here to Homeworld, so theres little to no mention of Steven's homeworld adventure. I might edit this after the whole white diamond arc ends to be more acurate. I hope you enjoy!

Steven, Homeworld, Danger... Diamonds... Those words don't sound too comforting together, right? Who said this was a comforting story? For Steven and the gems, things finally don't go right. When Steven is separated from Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl during the attempt to retrieve his father from the zoo, he is found, and quickly identified as a rose quartz gem... and not just any, but the rebellion leader's own son. Blue and Yellow Diamond create a master plan to finally eliminate the Crystal Gems, and Steven is the key to doing so. All they have to do is play a game of emotions, and things will soon fall into their hands, due to a very unlikely snitch. Will Steven be able to resist the Diamonds and escape, or will Steven's Universe crumple because of himself? (Rated T, to be on the completely safe side, but I seriously doubt there will be anything too bad in my fanfiction, as I am trying to make it as close to the style of the show as possible! ( Finished editing! ) As a last resort resulting from the Crystal Gem incident, every era 2 gem was implemented with a type of disease, need they ever be destroyed. This disease slowly killed the gem off if they were to ever fall in love, since love was deemed as a distraction. Unless it was mutual, they would certainly shatter over time. As time went on, Peridot fell in love with Lapis.
