Zayne is a regular teen leading a regular life in a most irregular world. He goes to school, he has friends, he loves his family, and he has a loving Aunt and Uncle who are just a little bit on the mysterious side. But where is the irregular part of his life at? That lies in the strange disappearance of dozens of people across his area. When Zayne is revealed the truth about those missing people, and the truth behind his family heritage he is forced to make a choice: Grab ahold of his hidden talents and use them for good, or ignore them and his past and try to live out a normal life. Either way one thing is for sure, Zayne's life will never be the same ever again.

Note: This is a reboot of a story series I made on the previous account I used, VictoryWriting. The original series was made when I was much more premature and weaker with my story details, characters, writing, and story, so honestly I wouldn't recommend them to read, but if you feel curious and can endure the cringy, horrible plot development that they hold you can go read them to see just exactly what some details of this reboot will hold. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. Lift a building, breathe underwater, fly. But at such a cost? Morgan would very happily shove it back to wherever it came from. In a close future, certain children and teenagers suddenly begin to exhibit their own unique superpowers. In order to contain them, keep the secret, and abuse these young adults' power for their own advantage, the government hunted them down and opened camps to train and brainwash these 'supernaturals' in cruel ways. It didn't matter if the child was five or eighteen; they'd take them and give them the same horrible treatment. Morgan was hunted and taken. Rylie was not. Morgan Carter was put in the camps and wasn't able to come out the same way she came in. She became their pet telekinetic/assassin, ready to kill and torture without hesitation and knew how to. She forgot her old life, including her name. Rylie Garner paraded as Light Glider around his city-their own personal superhero-escaping being caught with the help of his friends while trying to find his little supernatural sister, who was taken. When her uncle vanishes without a trace, Nera and Azlan put aside their differences to track down the threat endangering their home, Asteria. However, as Nera finds herself drawn to Azlan, she remains unaware that he harbors a dangerous secret-one that could put her life in grave danger.

The story of a guy with extraordinary abilities and extraordinary problems. He meets friends, enemies, and loses a bit of each. I enjoy writing and drawing comic books and making my own heroes and villains and I wanted to see how turning my favorite hero into a book would turn out. Feel free to give feedback, it always helps. Jack Carter is your semi-average guy. Sixteen, 5' 11, charcoal black hair, and a slight muscle build. The rich popular kid that everyone adores. Until his life takes a turn for the better and worse. Sure, the move was bad. A whole new city across the country. The Big freakin' Apple. Then there was the fact that he had to leave all his friends and make new ones. Double bummer. But juggling his new abilities and super villains? Now there's the ride of a lifetime.

In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again.
