Her mother has been dead since after she was born and her father has been gone for as long as she can remember. Payton Heights has not had a very fun ride on the roller coaster of life. Now, she has received a phone call from an estranged father's dying wish that has forced her into moving to one of his close friends house in...New York City. This seems exciting to her since she's lived with her aunt Ella in Tulsa, Oklahoma since...well...forever. She is also scared because she has never met her father or her father's friend before. She doesn't understand why this had to happen to her or what her life will be like in the big heart of NYC.
