It's weird how colours can represent moods. Red for anger, yellow for happiness, the lists endless. Nyla is a morphwitch. A magical being who can wield spells and she can never hide her mood. It depicts her hair colour. So if she was angry her hair would burn red, if she was sad it would drop to blue. And she's an Illegal. An outcast, which makes her life so much more difficult. There's nothing she wants more than an out, but when opportunity comes knocking will she greet it like a friend or will she lock the door, draw the curtains and hide?

Adam has had it easy. Popular at school, easy life at home and he sleeps sound at night. But when he comes home one day and finds a weird purple haired girl in his room he's opened up to a whole new world, one he never knew existed. Letting the girl into his life could mean indisputable danger and sleepless nights.
