I stared across the classroom at him. His hair looked messier than any other day. His muscles were tense and forced to not turn around and look back at me. His eyes colored honey were staring blankly at something. They were almost empty. Almost.
I stared at the reflection on my phone. I didn't know pain and hurt could be seen in someone's face until I saw mine.
I laughed sadly.
In the notebook that was on my desk I scribbled:
'I'm living a life that doesn't feel like mine anymore.'

I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me.
