"Did you really think I was gonna go along with your games Maia? Don't take me for a fool " Ian said pinning my body against a brick wall. My hand twitches with the strongest urge to deliver the biggest slap of his life straight to his cheek. But I'm gonna refrain myself from violent tactics.

"Just let go Ian, I'm not in the mood" I said rolling my eyes. He raised his hand and slowly brushed a loose strand of hair out of my eyes and tucked it behind my ear. 

 He leaned down and whispered "I will never let you go, I'm always gonna be here, unlike Noah" I took this as an advantage and kneed him in the stomach, which  caused him to bend over in pain. This was my chance, I started running as fast as I could out of school and I ran to the car park.

It was empty.

I heard footsteps coming up behind me. Fast. I tried to get away but he was quicker than me and soon enough I was tackled t the ground. Every time I tried to get a hand free he would grab it and put it over my head. He started to punch me all over my stomach. The darkness was holding me hostage as my body was being manipulated by someone other than me. My salty tears were pouring into my mouth making me gag. Then that's when it happened. That is when my life changed.

"Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" I don't endulge in romance like this it's just fun to write. This is also a slow burn. If you're impatient and want character development fast this book isn't for you. I want to keep this story as realistic as possible and people changing their ways overnight isn't. I also just love books where not everything is sped through and you really get to know the characters and their habits.
