1 part Ongoing MatureThe Solvain dynasty are said to be direct descendants of emperor Aurelian himself, native latin speakers, as old as the fallen empire itself. While Rome burned, they remained. But three months ago, a phantom fire began to burn within their hillside estate, spreading slowly, but nevertheless spreading. Over tapestries of generations past, over relics older than their history.
May 6th marks the disappearance of Trajan Solvain, the only expendable member of the family- cruel, remiss, a burden, connected to them only through shared golden blood.
Intention would have him erased, perhaps a necessary sacrifice for the safety of the succession of the Solvain dynasty. But born a twin, Domitia Solvain won't allow her brother to be turned into just another roman tragedy. While they have been vicious in the past, and fought like dogs at each others throats, he was born alongside her. If he is to die, she will be at his side. And if he is already gone, there is little reason for her to continue without him.
Trajan will be found. But the Solvain dynasty has not survived a millenia without stepping outside of morality in the pursuit of power and legacy. To find her brother she may have to turn her family inside out; expose secrets never meant to be uttered aloud and pray to a God she isn't sure she believes in that it won't result in the fall of her family. Though if she had to choose; her brother or their empire, the Solvains would burn in a day.
Domitia only hopes that her family had nothing to do with his disappearance- something the newly replaced detective on the case doesn't mind alluding to.
The Solvains are ancient blood. Power incarnate. Love and hate go hand in hand for them, blood sports with the highest losses. But the only thing that they hate just as destructively is the empire they were born to uphold, for what it has taken from them and similarly, forced upon them.
Whatever happens, a Solvain reckoning is promised.
