 "Jess..." He breathed, his fingers brushing lightly down my cheek and along my jaw. I felt my heart constrict in fear as the memories flashed through     my mind. 
"I- I can't." I whispered, trying to pull away from him. He saw the terror in my gaze and I could see the pain in his mesmerising green eyes. Pain for me.
"I'm not them, I'm not him." He said softly, not once breaking eye contact as he pulled me closer to him. I fought him, trying to break free and the memories surged forward. I could feel myself beginning to crack.
"No... please..." I closed my eyes as the tears began to leak from my tightly clenched eyes. His grip on me loosened and I stepped away from him, my eyes still closed.

And then it happened.

His kissed me. Tingles erupted from the contact, sending a fire surging through my body from where his lips met mine. He was soft and sweet, allowing me to step away if I wanted. Instead, I pulled myself back into him, losing myself in his embrace. The demons couldn't reach me here, I was safe at last.
