The Gory Details (Gross)
Between 2004 and 2008 I wrote a series of "Tips for Writers" for Nocturnal Ooze magazine vaguely about what would happen in real life if you did the things they do in movies but mostly about the gross out. I've always loved them and so have taken them out of mothballs for a new audience here on wattpad. They're all here except for #13 which seems to have vanished. I've also left them mostly intact except for a few very dated references that have been updated. I own the rights to the articles and Queen Mum of the Ooze, Kay Patterson has allowed me to keep the name "Gore Monger" (which she owns) provided I write: The Gore Monger appears courtesy of Nocturnal Ooze. In an attempt to understand his freakish classmate and their alluring yet alien warmth, a boy uses his "scientific" methods to get some answers. What is this special warmth's cause? Heartburn? True love? An organ? The boy is desperate to locate some reasonable solution. However, as time goes on, the boy comes to question his actions. Surely this is for his classmate's own good, right? (Cover was drawn by me!) The rain had felt so surreal to Classic as he laid among the field. Thick grey clouds rolled past as thunder rumbled in the horizon. Trees swayed as the breeze kicked up the loose leaves and carried them away. Everything felt so unreal as he looked to the surface world. He had finally made it, or so he had thought. One moment there was a peace of mind. The next they were captured by unknown origins. Sent to a facility, they only had each other. At least until they meet some of the other inhabitants. Monsters like themselves. With growing friendships, will both sides be capable in achieving future goals. One group wants to return home. The other wishes for freedom. Maybe their arrival to the new world was not a mistake. Just maybe they were capable of aiding their new found friends.Complete

When scientific genius Matthew was working in his lab one day, an extinction event occurred, wiping out most of humanity, apart from small groups of people. Being the only one with any recollection of the human race, Matthew has to take into account his feelings of losing the only woman he had ever loved to the event.
