Agent 3 and Agent Green have been battling the few remaining Octarians in Octo Valley after DJ Octavio and the rest of the army fled from the valley two years ago. While inspecting the stage and platforms where they fought the DJ, they find two Octolings and fight them.

What Agent 3 found unexpected was that both of them wanted to be free and live like the Inklings.

It was also mysterious when they were suddenly kidnapped by strange Octarians. And now former Octolings Agent 8 and Agent Pink, and Inklings Agent 3 and Agent Green fight their way out of the mysterious, underground facility.

More mysteries and truths arise around them as they both unexpectedly begin to fall for each other.

Even when it seems like it's over, more mysteries and feelings unfurl themselves as they find themselves in the promised land. Maybe so that even Agent 4 and Agent Yellow must help out too.
