(An Unlikely Heroes Prequel) To restore the realm's balance, she must reclaim her stolen birthright. From the moment Evalastra appeared before her, Helena Markensham knew her life would never be the same. In her mind, she was just a girl who wanted to make the most of the life she's been given. To the goddess, however, she's a princess with the world's utmost protection sitting upon her shoulders. Helena does her best to ignore what she's been told, telling herself the quest she's been given doesn't belong to her. The tables are soon turned, however. If she's to succeed in setting all wrongs to right, she'll have to take up the mantle Evalastra has given her. The question is, how can she do so when she's not quite sure where she stands within the world she lives?

In her previous life, she trusted the wrong people, treated foes like friends, cut all ties with her family, and abandoned the one man who loved her more than anyone in this world, all for a cheap, poor, sorry excuse of a man whom she mistakenly took as a treasure. What was the result? She lost her inheritance, her family, got cheated on by that man with her best friend, and finally died a miserable death at the hands of her then fiance with her best friend. At the last moments of her life, she saw the only man who loved her, a man she had grown to hate, rush to her like a madman. She heard him scream in agony as her body lay lifeless in his arms, her mind reeling from the last moments of her life. Maybe the heavens took pity on her, or her unwillingness was just too great to resist that she found herself back to the day it all started, back to when she was eighteen. This time, though, she wouldn't make the same mistakes, nor would she allow herself to die so unjustly. This time, she would make them pay. The pain she felt in the previous life, they'd feel it a million times more. On top of that, she was determined to cling to a certain big boss and shower him with all the affection he deserved.
