The Cursed Season was coming, and with it, Death. On the night of the Winter Solstice, Daivyanna Valda and multiple other young women would be dead.
The cold was coming, and with it, a promise. A promise that Death would be there, that Death would come to fulfill its promise to the Kingdom of Treiabeth.

Daivyanna Valda is a Second Daughter. She is bound by the chains of her society and by her curse: on her eighteenth birthday, Death will come for her, as it has come for many who have never escaped. She has trained her whole life for the Winter Solstice, hoping for the possibility that she might survive.
Everything changes when she finds out the truth behind the Second Daughters' Curse, and what actually happened to the First Queen. When she finds out the Queen's dark secret and horrid plans for their world.
But, in the dark castle of Treiabeth, Daivyanna doesn't know who to trust. Who could be on her side. Who else could help her tip the scales in a war she might never even have a chance to win.
A fight for her life turns into a fight for her world and everyone in it.
