Beck Addams is the school's smartest kid. He aces everything ranging from pop quizzes to exams, and everyone wants him to tutor them. Deaf since childhood, he never let it stop him; he does everything he can to be able to communicate with people. Everyone loves him and he has a very happy life.

Riley King is the school's "emo" kid. He wears all black, sits in the back of the class, and gets straight C's. Like typical emo kids, he never talks to anyone. One good reason for that is because he is mute. Even if he weren't, people would be too scared to talk to him; no one wants to go near him. He likes it that way though. He dislikes people.

The only thing these two boys have in common is that they can use and understand ASL, though Riley rarely uses it, and they are both LGBT. Beck is gay and Riley is genderqueer and demiromantic asexual.

With how different they are, how could they ever interact with one another? Well, one day they get partnered for a project at school. Will they be able to work together? Will Beck get Riley to communicate with him at all? Or will Riley just push Beck away like he does everyone else? Read to find out.

*I wrote this when I was like... 14 lol. It has been edited for grammar, but any cringe, plot holes, or "cliff hangers" have not been fixed. There are too many issues so I will not be editing the story at all to fix them. Please keep that in mind when you read, and I hope you enjoy the story anyway! Maybe you can just read for fun and giggle at the weird parts.

**Also: Sorry for the fancy gender/sexuality terms. Again... I was 14. I suggest you google them if you don't know what they are because I don't think I ever explained them in the story and Google will probably give you a better explanation than I can lol.

"I am the textbook definition of in love with you." *** Castor Rex: He's snarky, quiet and mysterious. A secret keeper. He doesn't like his life to be on display. People avoid him, even if they respect him. Jasper Red: He's polite, nice and helpful. A open book. He likes filling his life with other people and their love. People love him, they can't help it. Because of his quiet nature, snarky smirks and sarcastic words Castor has always had a hard time when it came to making friends -and keeping them. Something Jazz doesn't struggle with. With Jazz's protective nature, shyness and many friends he doesn't need someone else to fill a spot in his life -at least, that's what he thought. Then they met. And that empty part in Jazz's heart felt a little bit bigger because he started to realize Cas could fill it. Cas sees him as a grinning, happy dork he has no chance with. Jazz sees him as a adorable, grumpy jock that now, is his. Castor wants to get through the school year as quietly as possible but with how loud Jazz loves, neither of them know if it's possible, and to make matters worse they're roommates for the rest of the year. It's only a matter of time before they come together or fall apart. *** As a private person, someone who doesn't share myself with others, I can say that learning how to interact with others is difficult. It's like baking, almost, you have to mix the right ingredients together, and if you add the wrong ones things can taste hideous even if they look good. It's a lot like our words. But I've mastered how to tell someone just a little about myself but doing it in a way that makes the person in front of me think they know a lot. Jasper, somehow, sees through this every fucking time and it's absolutely infuriating. He's never satisfied with just a little of me, with my hidden truth, and it's the most annoying thing I've ever experienced. *** @STESLARA made the second POV in her book 'Jasper Red's Anomaly'

A deaf boy, named Nigel, settles in the image of what everyone sees him as: a once hearing-to-deaf and pitiful teen. With that, he's able to hide the his true and dark nature that allows him to take revenge out on those who hurt someone he cared for the most. Until one of those people he intends to punish, Evan, happens to be someone he didn't expect to care for. Someone he can't decide to hurt, or protect from his own nature he can't help. *** "Why are you looking at my lips?" Evan questions him, and he saw Nigel look back at them again. "Are you into dudes or something? Listen, I'm straight, but I don't have a problem with gay dudes. Just don't try to force your sexuality onto me, that's pretty shitty." The more he spoke, the more Nigel would look at his lips. Evan began to cover his mouth now and saw Nigel almost look offended by him doing so. Now he was confused and raised his eyebrow. Only to see Nigel sigh, stepping back as he looked down at Evan in contempt. "I am deaf, but I can read lips perfectly. You really have no filter, saying whatever you want without the consideration of how others might feel." Nigel spoke up, shocking Evan as he heard his voice for the first time. "I'm bisexual, not gay; but you don't need to worry. I wouldn't dream of forcing anything upon anyone. Besides, I'd never like somebody like you." Evan watched as Nigel began to reach behind the counter, pulling up a camera out of nowhere. That's when his picture was taken on the spot and he flinched. Except Nigel just connected the camera to the computer as Evan's picture was extracted. Set on a template for a library card, he saw Nigel working on it. He didn't care about that though as it was the words that he said. 'Besides, I'd never like somebody like you.' That was ringing in his mind more than anything else because... "Wait, I think I heard you wrong."

"I am the textbook definition of in love with you." *** Jazz Red has had a life full of love; his parents taught him how to value himself, his siblings taught him how to stand up for what he believed in, and his family has taught him what it means to matter to people. He has people in his corner, there for him and ready to have his back. He knows that there are people who are less lucky than him-- with unaccepting parents and cruel siblings and a harsh past. He knows that when things go wrong, sometimes people are alone. Sometimes they fall apart, and there's no one else there to catch their shattered pieces. But he isn't one of them. He has friends and family that love him. So why does he want more? Why does he-- even with all the joy his family gives him-- want a different type of love? He feels selfish, undeserving. Why did he have to feel so bad about being alone when he was surrounded by people who appreciated him? Why did he have to want, why did desire never leave him alone? Well, he finds out when he meets Castor Rex, a quiet and extremely interesting football player, and that empty part in Jazz's heart feels a little bit bigger when he starts to realize Cas could fill it. Cas sees him as a grinning, happy dork he has no chance with. Jazz sees him as a adorable, grumpy jock that now, is his.
