It has been 10 years since the world is plunged into war and 5 years, since the young king of men, the calculating Erik IX systematically united it.

With conditions.

While the humans gather wealth and rejoice in the walled city of the Capital, all that is left of the other species are left to survive in the ruins of a world that used to be their own. The demons and fairies are enslaved to assist with the capital's revival, the dwarfs are forced into hiding, and the gods, having lost their power due to the decrease in religious piety is exiled back to their lands. 

A rebellion is rising. 

Rumours are rising in the capital that a mysterious demon is seen on a killing spree in the city, targeting human slave owners and nobles. And Aya Pendragon, a young mercenary who'd just arrived at the capital is determined to catch it for herself. 

But she has a secret. 

And there are many who wants her power as their own. With the help of her new-found friends and a mysterious young man who seems to be too interested in her powers. Aya moves in towards the killer only to find herself caught in a greater scheme.
