At the age of seven, Abel Kaine was orphaned when his mother was mysteriously killed. Alone, he was taken in by the Lochner family. He grew to see these people as his family, though he still felt a pit of resentment towards his father, whom he'd never met and had left before he was born. However, when Abel's world is flipped on its head, he must learn to live in a world filled with an unimaginable darkness, but with some of that darkness seemingly residing within him. He can feel it when he's alone, and when he's asleep. Something hidden beneath the the black curtain tempts him to delve further into the mystery, for it could help him solve his mother's murder - and guide him to discovering who he really is.
