Stella has been mute for ten years. She hasn't spoken a word since she and her parents were in a car accident where she was the only survivor. In yet another foster home Stella encounters Jackson, the nephew of one of her foster moms. Jackson is a bad boy whose parents have sent him to stay with his aunt for the summer in hope of him getting on the right track. Will Jackson be able to help this damaged girl or will he be like many before him and bully Stella for her inability to speak.
