[Book 1 of The Delusional Guardians]

The mythical world of Phantasma is near its end, its destruction inevitable. The Supreme Oracle brings this news to the Gathering of Nobles, shocking the noble families that few of their own will be chosen to travel to the World's End, where the Sacred Artifact, Aurora Diemque, is kept. With this weapon, would they be able to perform miracles capable of thwarting the Greater Beings' plans of the world's end.

Houvdon Archelio, the Prince of Etherstorm and the strongest of mages of all generations, is determined to find a way to stop these "Primordial Gods" from playing their game that means the destruction of their home.

Kryva Pellemeur, a mere rumor as the last child of the late Lord Pellemeur, is one of those unwillingly chosen by the selection process of these Greater Beings that the Seclusion Church praises and glorifies.

These two, along with the others chosen to journey, will unveil unspoken truths that lead down to the very workings of the world they call home. What if these Primordial Gods that Seclusion Church and Nobles praise as the Greater Beings...were things much more humane than any could have imagined?

Only the World's End, where the Sun meets the darkness of the literal end of the world that lies at the very edge of Phantasma, can answer their questions. But will they be able to reach it before their world is struck by calamity?

IRON HAND (BOOK ONE): FOR THE GREATER GOOD by LowHale
34 parts Complete Mature
"Iron Hand" begins in the throes of what most stories would consider the final battle. Buren, leading the "Seekers of the Artifact," utilizes the power of the Gauntlet, an ancient artifact for which he sacrificed his own arm and triumphs over the dark lord, ending the undead scourge plaguing the lands. Without a foe to unify them, the alliance of various racial, religious, and political factions begins to unravel. Reluctant negotiations result in an uneasy peace that leaves many dissatisfied, especially Buren. Now feared and distrusted for the power of the Gauntlet, Buren finds no respite. Dark visions he believes to be warnings from the Gauntlet haunt his dreams. However, his fears are dismissed as the delusions of a war-weary mind. Determined to confront this new threat, Buren follows his visions to an ancient mountain, located within the sacred grounds of the Dryads. The distrustful Dryads deny him access. Out of options, Buren infiltrates the Faith, a fanatical human supremacist religious order, becoming their enforcer, their "Iron Hand." As Buren travels, we delve into the backstories of the "Seekers of the Artifact," witnessing his navigation through a treacherous web of intrigue where trust is a luxury he cannot afford. The realm suffers under a despotic king, with whom Buren must ally on the surface, while secretly plotting his downfall. The situation is further complicated by his arranged marriage to a woman harboring her own dark secrets. Literary heroes sacrifice everything for others, but what happens when saving the world requires sacrifices from everyone? When do the ends cease to justify the means?. What if saving the world involves sacrificing innocents, betraying loved ones, and allying with despised enemies? "Iron Hand" is a story of a man who gave everything to save the world once and is now prepared to do so again, even if it means crossing lines he never thought he would. But will he still be hailed as a hero?

"I felt so caged again, as if I had wings but I wasn't allowed to fly, a voice but I wasn't allowed to speak. It was a scary feeling at first, but later you just get used to it, but you just want freedom and the feeling of safety. Why did I have to be caged in this dump? I thought about the Phoenix again. Did the Phoenix hate me? What had I ever done to this Phoenix? I balled my fists up in anger as I stared outside the window still, watching a great brown eagle fly outside." ("The Normality" is part 1 of "Destiny of Fire", the first book of the "War of the Phoenix" series) For quite a long time, a legendary bird called the "Phoenix" tried to possess a woman and her children to come in hopes of taking over the world. When it gets ready to try and possess its next victim, Alisha Quill, a group called the Storm-seekers and another group called the Spreaders are hard at work to stop the Phoenix in any way possible, including asking for the help of the most powerful man in the world; Almaroz. Meanwhile, nine heroes rise from the most unlikely places and even though they don't know it, their paths are set to cross and their destiny falls under the feet of the storm-seekers and the Phoenix itself. Achievements: #32 in Steampunk #105 in Prophecy #152 in Phoenix WARNING: It's my first story, so it probably won't be top quality, and the chapters are pretty long. "A Great Storm Is Coming..."
