Humans started as a cult. A cult of those who claimed not to know how to use magic themselves. Demons were what the rest of the world was classified as. Whether they were an actual demon such as devils with horns, a tail, and huge leathery wings, or something as docile as a faerie, if not just a little bit mischievous. Humans were nothing more than a big, self centered cult that slowly began to take over the world.
Human was a self given term. More commonly known among demons, they called them sine virtute, loosely translating from Latin to "without power". It was well known within the world that demons called humans this, and not many called them that without disgust in their voice as no being was born without power. Though it was claimed by humans that they were a new species. In disgust, many demons went as far as to use slurs towards them. Mainly the word infermiter, meaning weakly, powerless, and useless.
It wasn't long before the humans began to push out demons from many places in the world, allowing them to be taken and sold off as slaves, or have their limbs sold off in public places as charms or even food. The newest push was the outlawing of demons in many countries, cities, and states entirely. Fifteen states in America had demons outlawed, and the punishment was death. Nearly half of the states if not more had severe laws to keep demons in place. Humans force them to hide their features by sanding down vampire fangs, locking werewolves in cells each month, and sawing off devil horns.
Jaxon Bracket wants to be the one to put an end to this. And he's gonna need the lost royal Nixous family to help him.
