Laney Penn is one of the top students at Peaceville high, best friends with honor student Kim Kagami. Usually they're picked on by Kim's own sister and her gang of miscreants. Laney is just trying to survive and make it to her senior year. But after a mistake of signing up for being a tutor; she gets a surprise of being paired with the schools notorious bad boy, Corey Riffin.

Corey is an attractive guy, plays in a band, and is involved heavily with the drug hustle. But overall is a complete douche, unable to keep up with relationships and his school work; his band time is taken away and will be permanently removed if he doesnt raise his grades.
