In a near future, the world has been taking under control by a man whose name is unspoken. A man who looks you in the eyes and controls your soul. People live in small villages with guards all around them to make sure they are safe. Danny is a 17-year-old boy who lives with his mom and his younger sister in one of the small villages. They don't have much money, no one does but they stay a life because they have each other. Danny's father despaired many years ago. Spencer is an 18-year-old girl who lives in the wilderness, she doesn't have any family left, they have all been taken. One day Danny and Spencer come across each other and the world change forever.
