I haven't even begun to break a sweat when I've closed about half of the gap between us. "Wow! Would you look at those moves!"

Aoyama's shots have now started to become erratic and less calculated. Even from how far away I am, I can see the beads of sweat dripping down his face.


Three quarters of the way down. Another laser, this one much weaker than the others comes toward me. I smirk, jumping to the left. Just as my first foot touches the ground, I see him.

My heart stops. I can't breathe.

The only thing that knocks me out of my head is Midnight's next words. "Timeout!" It's deathly silent like it was when I first walked out here, but this time, it's not just in my head.

Midnight has her hand up to her mouth and Aoyama looks like he's about to throw up. "Why are we stopping?" I don't need an answer because the next thing I hear is two drops on the ground, almost in unison with the beat of my heart and I look down.

My right hand is gone.
