Her Sister, Her Shadow

Anemone Komori is Yui Komori's supposed younger twin sister, or rather, her shadow.

"Who am I, her sister, her shadow? The latter."

(Anemone's POV)

In a cab, I sit across from my elder twin sister, Yui, although I'm more of her shadow than her sister.

We're currently being chauffeured to our new home.

My so-called "Adoptive Father," Seiji, wants us to live with the Sakamaki Brothers, as their Prospective Brides.

Or rather, Yui's the Prospective Bride, and I'm the Blood Bank, so his beloved daughter, Yui, is safe, while I can die of blood loss.

For all he cares, I'm sure.

Even my "Adoptive Father" considers me the always replaceable shadow of my favored elder sister.

The cab stopped, then Yui and The Driver got out, leaving me without a glance of acknowledgment, neither now nor on the ride here.

'Why is elder sister so cold? Could we be closer now that Father's away?' I wondered, hopeful that I may finally get a chance with my "perfect" Onii~sama.

I exited the cab as Mr. Driver gave Yui her luggage, then took everything else (my carry-ons) out of the trunk.

Mr. Driver re-entered his vehicle before driving off in a hurry, without a word of farewell to either of us.

I turned to admire the gate of the enormous Sakamaki Mansion; my lips press together in thought.

'Maybe, just maybe, I'll be happy here.'

Thus was my hopeful thinking, and one of the only wishes I have left.
