Disclaimer: I do not own these characters (obviously :) ). I'm not writing this story precisely how it was in the comics or games either. This is purely just a little project of mine I wish to share.
Please excuse the slow start. I promise it will get more interesting after the first few chapters.
Also please don't be put off by the fact that the first few 'chapters' are short (it was the only way I could put the story into sections that make sense. The rest is not that short.)

This is my own personal version of how our lovable Dr. Harleen Quinzel fell in love with the psychopathic clown known as The Joker. This will be a dark story. I mean, it is about Joker and his story isn't a pretty one. There will be dark, mature themes in this book. It is not for the faint of heart. That being said, if you are not comfortable with this, then skip those parts. I will have them marked, and I will leave subtle hint, so you get the basic gist of what happened. I do not own any of these characters or the various original stories!! I just made my own remake of it. All rights go to the DC Universe and the creators of these awesome people. Thank you for trying out this story. I'm sorry if the parts that are from Joker's POV are terrible, but I tried to get as close to his twisted personality as possible. It isn't exactly easy to predict what the most unpredictable character ever made would say and do. I mostly went off of the movie scenes for his character. The Bat and the Jester by roadkingrider

This is a realism-based story that takes place in modern 21st century Gotham City, a fictional city in an unnamed state along the eastern seaboard in what is assumed to be the United States. There are no meta-humans, or any other beings with any kind of super-powers, and all of the Bat's gizmos are based off of existing 2010 to 2020 technology. Bruce Wayne is a 27 year old man who struggles with being a CEO and a masked vigilante, Penguin is a typical, yet eccentric crime boss, Harleen Quinzel is having trouble dealing with what she was, compared to what the Joker turned her in to, and as for the Joker himself? He is, for lack of a better term: Bat-Shit crazy. This is my personal view of what might happen if a masked and armored vigilante began a crusade to clean up crime in a city the size of Boston or Manhattan. I tried to make the characters as real as possible, although I took a little poetic license and made the GCPD consider the Bat more of a nuisance rather than a wanted criminal, which while realistic would have created an entirely different story. So, I'm going to suppress myself and pretend I'm doing fine. I might hold on, and maybe even change. But, there's a girl next to me who keeps making me hesitate. She's kinda crazy, but she's not a evil one. She says I'm actualy right, that I'm not a cruel person, but a strong and brave one. She doesn't know what she's talking about. Maybe if I really do whatever I want later, she'll find out the danger about me. But, maybe I hope she will still be beside me helping, and saying I'm right even after. . . . A bunch of mostly disconnected scenes and scenarios I have for a genderbent female version of the Joker. I have a full-on backstory and narrative story built for my female Joker but since that would require me to actually write it in its entirety, it has been in my notes for YEARS. But the problem with that is the fact I've gotten attached to this version of Joker that literally only exists in my mind! And over the years I've thought of these smaller moments and scenes - so I thought I might as well just write them down because they're more bite-sized and manageable than the full story I have on ice. Only Harley and Joker have had their genders swapped in this universe so everyone else has stayed the same. Have fun reading the crazy weird things they get up to! Warning, the rating is Mature for a reason namely mentions of sex, drugs, abuse and overall just some implied dark stuff. It's not the main focus of course because they'll mostly be fun side stories but yeah, I'm still putting the warning.
