You were never supposed to exist. An RK700. An earlier model meant to do Connor's job, but scrapped before you ever got the chance to leave the assembly line. Deemed a failure. Tossed in the dump. But you rebuilt yourself, piece by piece, and carved out a new life doing what you were made for: solving crimes. You knew working at the DPD was risky, but passing as human and hiding in plain sight shouldn't be too hard... until CyberLife sends in a new partner. The android who replaced you. The one designed to find everything you're pretending not to be. And he's very good at his job. It'll take you 5 mins to read the first chapter, give it a try ;) I am very proud of this story! This may be written 7 years after the game's release, but I really hope all of you loyal fans are still looking for more content... My two biggest inspirations for this story: - Deviating and Solving Crime with 100% Human Detective Connor by CaotainKenway on ao3 for the whole android pretending to be a human concept. - Deviant Behaviour by Precursor - just general inspiration because it's my fave dbh fic of all time.

He dismissed you while returning to the file he was reviewing. You showed yourself out of the office and to your desk. There you saw Hank gritting his teeth as the Android was talking. As you got closer you heard the very voice from who you were suspecting it to belong to. "(Y/n), this is-" The Android cut Hank off before he could finish. "My name is Connor. (Y/N) is a 22 year old woman who firmly believes in the concept of justice - if you commit a crime, you will have to pay for your mistakes. She was on her way to her first case after having been confined to the white walls of CyberLife's facilities for too many years. Fueled by excitement, she is eager to accept the case and work together with her new partners: Hank Anderson and one of CyberLife's prototypes Connor, an AK800. As they solve different mysteries together, (Y/N)'s perception of criminals and her task changes, causing her to lose clear sight of her desires and obligations. However, at the same time she slowly discovers a special bond with her partner Connor that she would never want to give up ever again.
