Ember Rose is one of the many dragon shifters that roam this magical world. Her village is stuck between two homelands, Fire and Earth. Her town lies in a peaceful pocket of wilderness that acts as an entryway between the two homelands that host the most powerful creatures in all the land.

At age sixteen, she turns into a dragon that changes her village forever. Ember is the first ever in 10,000 years to become a mixed breed of all the elemental dragons. 

A Rainbow Dragon. 

Then disaster strikes, two mighty rivals come back to fight and brought upon destruction to Ember's village. She separates from her family and eventually finds a black-haired girl on a cliff. 

One thing leads to another...

The seemingly limitless flames drive a variety of leaders towards the juvenile dragon to use as a weapon to gain an edge over the enemy after generations of fighting. Ember's fire doesn't stop growing in power and poses a threat for the very dragon that it lives inside, but external forces are also at work which will change her forever. Pressure continues to soar as the war continues to drive all the dragon species towards extinction, including her siblings. As three sides struggle to gain the dragoness' support; consequences of whatever choice she makes will ripple throughout her life and world. Those that turned on their magic and gifts and now hunt those like Kyra down. Not only are shifters rare, but cheetah shifters even more so. With hunters weeding them out, shifters seem to be becoming more animal than rational. So when her heat cycle hits not having a male around of her breed is fine by her. That way she won't end up mated to a complete asshole. Who would leave her pregnant and not help raise a child that would need to be hidden from the world. She hasn't seen another shifter in years, and it's safer to just fade away into the world of humans. However fate has a different plan for Kyra when she meets twin brothers Adrian and Andre. They are cheetah shifters as well, and a female in heat is impossible to ignore. Kyra knows the danger of the shifter world, and never wanted to mate. Sometimes fate has other plans.
