Every year, two times a year, the Heat occurs. Unmated females with their first heats are let out in an expanse of territory where they are forcefully mated and claimed by the unmated males.

     This year is Cassandra's first heat. And she is determined to come back unmated.




Note: Everything but cliche. This means

His hand travel up and down my back and sent tingles flowing through me in every direction. Why did my body react this way to a man I'd met only recently? Why didn't I push him away? Why didn't I call the cops on a man who was frankly breaking and entering? I looked into his eyes and they were glowing such a stunning gold. They were filled with so much lust and desire it was almost overwhelming. Wait glowing? Do normal peoples eyes glow? I reached my hand up and touched his cheek to see if they would burn me from just a touch. But I retracted my hand realizing how stupid that was.. and he growled as soon as my hand left his cheek.
