Intro to Classical Mythology
Greek and Roman mythology is quite generally
supposed to show us the way the human race thought
and felt untold ages ago. Through it, according to this
view, we can retrace the path from civilized man who
lives so far from nature, to man who lived in close
companionship with nature; and the real interest of the
myths is that they lead us back to a time when the
world was young and people had a connection with the
earth, with trees and seas and flowers and hills, unlike
anything we ourselves can feel. The imagination was
vividly alive and not checked by the reason, so that
anyone in the woods might see through the trees a
fleeing nymph, or bending over a clear pool to drink,
behold in the depths a naiad's face.
Nothing is clearer than the fact that primitive man,
whether in New Guinea today or eons ago in the
prehistoric wilderness, is not and never has been a
creature who peoples his world with bright fancies and
lovely visions. Horrors lurked in the primeval forest, not
nymphs. Terror lived there, with its close attendant,
Magic, and its most common defense, Human Sacrifice.
Mankind's chief hope of escaping the wrath of whatever
divinities existed lay in some magical rite, senseless but
powerful, or in some offering made at the cost of pain
and grief.

WHERE THE HUMANS HOWL by KhanNasrullah
1 part Complete Mature
You must be familiar with wolves' howls but I want to show you the world where humans howl. Pain is a fundamental part of the human experience, which means that it's a fundamental part of storytelling. It's the root of some of our best metaphors, our most elegant writing. Characters in fiction suffer, because their suffering mirrors our own. Some of this collection of short stories explore themes of catastrophe, death and despair, while others talk of love and longing, with them all being highly complimented by readers with emotive writing skills. In the short story 'Donkey-Man', we read about a man who lived all his life among animals and writer, as a child, is surprised to know that he was a human. In the story "In Search of God' we meet a character who is confused by different religious sect and defines God in his own simple way. The villagers, who claim the real follower of God, don't allow him to live in the village, but he is welcomed by God. In the story, "The Last Storyteller", the narrator is at odds with a changing world. Through his three windows, he is offered glimpses of beauty and joy, but, alas, reality intrudes. On the way to capturing his tale, the windows show him the grace of the blue bird who sings in his garden, the joy of the young boys playing cricket by the graveyard and lastly, the sadness of a mysterious figure, the Last Storyteller, whose livelihood is as endangered as that of the rare bird's. Although some of these stories do deal with rather gloomy thoughts of life, they are all written in such a way that the stories told are interesting to read and really do make you think. This collection of short stories is definitely an interesting read with some of the questions not always being fully answered. And with many of the stories covering such dark subjects you will truly find it a hard book to put down.

Time didn't matter to her. She got up when the sun did and tried to sleep when the sun went down. because of this seemingly endlessness, she's forgotten her name, she's forgotten her family and she's forgotten everything she use to be. Now she was nothing. Living on the streets of a town begging for money and food from travellers that didn't know who she was, unlike the rest of the town that thought of her as something unnatural even though she doesn't know why. Constantly abused by the townspeople who don't understand her, she is left to die in an alleyway after a horrible run in with three drunk men. She was expecting to die and have her corpse eaten by rats and other vermin. What she didn't expect was to be saved by a woman that was everything but human. "Do you want to live?" This woman asked and when she looked into herself she knew the answer, it came easy through her busted lips. "Yes." From that day on she became something else, something not human, something extraordinary and from that day forth she will serve this woman who saved her life and maybe one day remember her name or be given one by her new Mistress. Maybe one day she'll remember who she was and maybe she'll even find the one person that completes her soul. From that day forth she became a Nightwalker. Completed. This is a lesbian story and contains mature actions between females. There will be warnings at the beginning of the chapter if you do not wish to read such content.

Get out your popcorn, tourists beware, here comes a paranormal adventure with a historical twist, set in Egypt--and Britain. From Chapter 29 'Darkness': 'Did I just try to dive into that goo to get at a dead guy?' Trueth asked. Define dead,' Metjen said with a half-smile. He muttered something and touched Trueth on the forehead. The rest of her giddiness faded away--only to return as Metjen crushed her in one of his bearhugs. 'For a moment I thought we would lose you. Don't do that again.' Trueth's cheeks burned. That could only be the caffeine. The stuff had never agreed with her. 'It wasn't my idea, there was a voice in my head!' *** Trueth hates being the last paranormal creature left on Earth. She needn't worry: On a trip to Egypt she runs into Metjen Al-Nour, magical member in the last temple of the sun god Ra. With sparks flying between them--not only those of the magical variety--they solve a 5000-year-old riddle where clues are literally buried in tombs, historical sites--as well as in the family safe. But their journey is far from over - where other stories end, this one really takes off... . The second novel in the trilogy, 'Cursed Times - Only Yesterday!', is completed, and 'In My Attic' - a spin-off to the world of Cursed Times is available with weekly updates. === Copyright information, given the recent acts of content piracy: All copyrights of the texts are mine exclusively. This is a document I created to write down my personal research into witchcraft. My ancient heritage is Greek, so I have mostly delved into Greek Mythology. If you'd like to add your own research please feel free to send me anything you'd like me to add. I also have a section of rocks, plants and other ritual items that I always love expanding if you'd like to add what you prefer to use in spells and readings.
