Over the years Harry has learned one thing... the first hit always hurts, but the second one only stings. After many years of abuse from his so-called family, Harry, found solace in Hogwarts. However, later he finds a whole new Hell in his safest place...and a certain young Weasley is forced to join him. Together Harry and Ginny navigate a world so intimately connected to Voldemort, and leave them, not only battling for their home, but also fighting for their minds. Soon Harry will learn that some wounds can't be numbed. A Harry Potter AU. I do not own any of the characters. The main idea of this book is from another fanfic called Need on Fanfic.net

The war had more than taken it's tole on the golden trio, and Harry was worn, tired and filled with sadness and grieving. He felt so much sorrow, and had no idea what to do with it. The Weasley's had taken a month or so to get back to their somewhat normal selves... but not everyone was the same. And you can't after all of the losses that they had dealt with. But Harry feels something heal whenever he is around Hermione. She had always known what to do and what the right thing to say was, and that was one thing that hadn't changed. But he started to get distant to Ginny and gravitate towards Hermione, who seemed to be one of the only people capable of making him happy.
