The Compass of Jian Mu

The World Tree is said to possess healing waters of youth, giant fruit that grants immortality, and a direct pathway to the heavens. It is known by many names, throughout the world, and its wonders have been sought after for years. No one has even come close.

Until now.

Captain Shen Lanyun has been cursed with the compass of Jian Mu: a tattoo that acts as a real compass, the needle spinning in his arm to direct him to the island of Tian Di, also known as the Island of Heaven's Gate. However, upon his arrival at the island's shores, he is met with a large gate that he is unable to open. The man who cursed him appears, and explains that he must collect maidens from the Four Corners of the Earth in order to open the gate. He tells Lanyun that the compass will guide him to each maiden, but once he finds them, how he gets them to the gate is up to him.

Taisce is the only daughter of the Gaul tribe Osismii's Chieftain and strongest warrior, and lives a peaceful and happy life in the city of Vorgium. She chooses herself a husband from many suitors who vie for her hand, but on the night before the wedding, she is stolen from her bed by pirates and brought aboard their ship. Thrust into a new world of adventure on the high seas, Taisce is forced to prove herself as more than just a maiden in order to survive.

However, with three other maidens to find and a variety of dangers ahead, the task is easier spoken than executed.
