Veronica is just like any other eleventh grader at Jefferson High School. She loves theatre, she writes for the school paper, she's obsessed with the 80's, and she dreams of a perfect seventeenth birthday. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be the party to remember goes haywire. Veronica's parents forget about her special day entirely, her best friend starts getting involved with the boy she's had a crush on forever, and all of her friends ditch her, leaving her completely alone. Before the night is over, Veronica makes her birthday wish, that she might live in a 1980's movie, where everything is seemingly perfect. Veronica wakes up to find that her wish has come true, but when her 80's movie takes a dark turn, she realizes that she wasn't taken back to any usual John Hughes movie, she's been thrown into Silent Night, a terrifying horror movie where a group of teens is forced to play a deadly game.
