After their parents had died in a tragic accident, Sodapop Curtis and his older brother Darry dropped out of school to get jobs and help support eachother, and their youngest brother Ponyboy. Unable to keep up in the busy neighbourhood their parents once raised them in, Darry decided it was time to move away to a cheaper area.
