A distant planet colonized by two species - humans and the dog-centaur-esque felnim - is at war as the two races fight to claim which side has the right to call it home. But when a human captain and a felnim soldier are forced together in the uninhabitable Death Stretch jungle, they will have to work together - and with a peculiar team of Earth scientists researching the planet unbeknownst to the colonists - to survive. And they may discover secrets about the planet that that none of them ever imagined.
This story is an anthology because each "chapter" is a short story meant to stand more or less on its own, while contributing to the overall plot. Feedback is welcome and appreciated!

Australia was once a country with Carnivores and Herbivores coexisting with the Omnivores. Humans, considered class Omnivores, came out with a strange pathogen. During the first week, humans were infected with a virus showing cannibalistic behaviour only to their own species. Biting. Eating the flesh of ones own species. Violent behaviour. It baffled scientists at it's cause, wondering what it is. Animals however, were invisible to the infected Omnivores. Humans were ignoring the Herbivores and Carnivores. Until, they too got infected. Somehow they did. Whatever caused it, they can see both human and animal as their prey. Even if their prey are carnivores. The army lost control within the first month. Airports shut down in areas nearby, while flights didn't dare to go back to Australia. No other country was willing to take Refugees. But one showed compassion and opened it's doors. One female scientist in the military made it a goal to find a solution before things get bad. ___________________________________________ Warnings: Blood descriptive depth of Injury and blood. After being convicted of a murder she didnt commit alita is left stranded on the hostile world filled with carnivorous plants, ruthless criminals, hostile natives, and bloodthirsty monsters. She comes to realize the world isnt as unforgiving and cold as it seems. She's saved by a native who dislikes humans as much as the next guy but shes intent on sticking by his side in order to survive. The only issue being is the last thing he wants is a pathetic, weak human girl following him around. (Limited time only read!)
