A distant planet colonized by two species - humans and the dog-centaur-esque felnim - is at war as the two races fight to claim which side has the right to call it home. But when a human captain and a felnim soldier are forced together in the uninhabitable Death Stretch jungle, they will have to work together - and with a peculiar team of Earth scientists researching the planet unbeknownst to the colonists - to survive. And they may discover secrets about the planet that that none of them ever imagined.
This story is an anthology because each "chapter" is a short story meant to stand more or less on its own, while contributing to the overall plot. Feedback is welcome and appreciated!

During the first week, humans were infected with a virus showing cannibalistic behaviour only to their own species. Biting. Eating the flesh of ones own species. Violent behaviour. It baffled scientists at it's cause, wondering what it is. Animals however, were invisible to the infected Omnivores. Humans were ignoring the Herbivores and Carnivores. Until, they too got infected. Somehow they did. Whatever caused it, they can see both human and animal as their prey. Even if their prey are carnivores. The army lost control within the first month. Airports shut down in areas nearby, while flights didn't dare to go back to Australia. No other country was willing to take Refugees. But one showed compassion and opened it's doors. With nothing but a wide ocean around him he settles into his new life in the jungle, and even gains a friend in the form of a young cat/canine predator which he saved from death. Things seemed pretty straightforward when he decides to explore the rest of the island, until he comes into close contact with two surviving Silth female soldiers, and they all learn about something more voracious living inside the jungle.
