Millions of people devote their lives in The Rive to praying to the Angel of Destiny. They ask for Her Sight when they sleep, and again when they wake. A King engrossed by paranoia, a longing for bloodshed and wars on every front has left The Rive in a state of desperation. Food shortages plague the poor and vulnerable; racial differences separate the population even further, and the rich find a way to profit. In response, an insurgent movement known as The Spring have taken the first steps of rebellion and when their ranks are joined by a young girl on the run from her ruler a catalyst will be sparked that shall throw the Kingdom into chaos and revolution.
