Millions of people devote their lives in The Rive to praying to the Angel of Destiny. They ask for Her Sight when they sleep, and again when they wake. Millions of people shall die before their prayers are answered. Lyvanne is not one of those people. A captive of the city she has lived in for her whole life, Lyvanne dreams of the world beyond the stone walls and baking sun. After a chance encounter with one of the few warlocks remaining on the continent, and a Vision granted to her by the Angel of Destiny force her into a life unlike any she had ever envisioned, Lyvanne struggles to come to terms with the fact that her fate may be the key to the future. A King engrossed by paranoia, a longing for bloodshed and wars on every front has left The Rive in a state of desperation. Food shortages plague the poor and vulnerable; racial differences separate the population even further, and the rich find a way to profit. In response, an insurgent movement known as The Spring have taken the first steps of rebellion and when their ranks are joined by a young girl on the run from her ruler a catalyst will be sparked that shall throw the Kingdom into chaos and revolution. NB: Cover not yet finalised. Have a nice draft map instead. NB 2: I plan to release a handful of chapters between now and publication. Please note, the final full edition of the book will not be free.

She woke to a world washed in silver. The clouds hung low, heavy with secrets. And when the rain began, soft, deliberate. She welcomed it like an old friend. But this morning wasn't like the others. Between the drops, she saw them. Tiny beings, born of shimmer and storm. Fairies. Real ones. They moved like the rain itself knew how to keep them hidden. And in that quiet wonder, something ancient stirred. Everyone else rushed past, umbrellas raised, eyes down. No one noticed. Except her. One fairy remained. Still, glowing, watching her like it had been waiting. When she whispered, "Hello," the world began to shift. But the rain wasn't the only thing falling that day. A parcel was coming. A diary that writes back. A demon who already knows her name. And a truth her father buried long ago. The past isn't sleeping. It's waking up.
